Mary changed her business name from Columbia Tai Chi to Mary Cruise Healing Arts in 2013. This would expand her practice from tai chi only to include qigong, tui na massage, and auriculotherapy. It would also emphasize Mary as a practitioner instead of the city.

When designing a new logo, we kept the person element of the original Columbia Tai Chi logo. This provided a smooth transition for brand recognition. A bar of colors representing the traditional Chinese five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) added a memorable accent while also subtly hinting at the philosophy that intertwines with Mary’s teaching. The complementary fonts chosen represent Mary’s playful way of teaching while being easily readable for digital and physical media.

Website Design: A new website was launched to increase the UX and UI while promoting the business as a place to cultivate your Qi. The site structure is navigated through the different services the business offers. Each page has an explanation of the service, pricing, schedules, and photos taken from inside her office. There is also a link to the Mary Cruise Healing Arts YouTube channel, which allows anyone to practice tai chi and qigong through video. The website has been renowned for driving traffic and introducing new customers to the business.
